sea fishing?

Post by billyfish »

 I am a local resident here, who enjoys sea fishing.

I am looking for any like minded people who are looking for days out or trips,

At the moment I go to dolphin bay on a small fishing boat, normal trips around 4-6 hours, just good fun and relaxation nothing serious. (not the big expensive farang boats).

would like to make new friends and aquaintances, to share the cost, and find some new places to go.

please email me if you have been fishing before or qould like to try.

 bill

Billyfish,

Me and friends go to Bangsapan maybe twice a month and rent a boat, we snorkel and fish off the boat, its really beautiful down there and only 2 hours in the car. If you want to have a beer sometime let me know and i can tell you all about it.

Cheers,

JW

I've heard that there are Spanish mackerel in the waters at Bang Saphang.
You've got to head out a bit, but......
One day. Barbecue here we come.

Sea Fishing

Post by frankbangkok »

I have often rented a small Thai fishing boat, with owner aboard, at the docks at Khao Takiap. We go out to the three small islands just south and do our fishing, on calm mornings. It can get quite rough and dangerous on rainy afternoons.

I have caught numerous Pla Gao (Grouper) and Pla Kapong Dang (Red Snapper). I use a rod and reel with cut up squid as bait. I have found that fishing near the bottom works best in about 30 to 90 feet of water.

As a hobby I make fishing lures. Bucktail jogs, spinnerbait and misc others. Since I like doing things with my hands I find making lures a bit challenging and a pleasant way to spent some of my spare time.

These are the type you melt the lead and pour into a mold and then use powder paint to paint them and bucktail or silicone skirt. There is a endless combination. They all are made with saltwater hooks.

One day I'm even going to try one fishing. Good fishin to ya

Norm, I would love to see your lures someday....maybe even try one or two on one of my fishing days.

Not a problem. We live in Cha Am so you pass right by on your way in from BKK. PM me the next time you are going to be passing through and I' ll give you directions on finding us. But fair warning, once you see what it is like here you woun't want to leave.

Like to hear about your fishing here.

Saigon... shit; I'm still only in Saigon... Every time I think I'm gonna wake up back in the jungle. When I was home after my first tour, it was worse. I'd wake up and there'd be nothing.
