According to a rather large company in Bangkok that arranges PR visas you also need proof of a salary of over 80k a month for 3 consecutive years.

As stated it is only a perk for the rich and doesn't really help the average alien or offer that many benefits to out weight the cost and hassle.

Anyway, maybe food for another topic so lets get this one back onto the impossibility of foreign land ownership.

Hi Lomu,
The 3 un-broken years of long stay extensions do not have to have been working or paying tax.
Not true. You need to be paying taxes for that period of time. It can be the minimum required by law, but you must be able to show those tax receipts.
I think what it is Vincent is that you apply for PR under different catagories, this is from a Thai Embassy website:
"a) Business or employment purposes, b) Investment purposes, c) Experts or academics, d) To support a family who are Thai citizens, e) As a dependent of a husband or father who is a Thai citizen, f) Accompanying a husband, father or son/daughter who already has a residence permit, g) Retirement"

The qualifying documentation is:
a) Business or employment - yes you have to show proof of WP, earnings, tax returns etc
d) Support Family - either Farang or Thai spouse needs to show 30k salary, so can be Thai spouse working or Farang
g) retirement - the documents required relating to income says: Certification of income (e.g., pension)
