In Cha-Am park, just south of town on the west side of the highway there is a very good Thai restaurant and the park makes for very pleasant surroundings for a meal. I've had lunch there twice (never been at night so don't know if they're open) and the quality was good and the price was very reasonable.

That's right, we did eat there, at night. I agree HHFARANG, a excellent meal, good price, and nice surroundings.

I also remember at night they had live music, at least the night we went.

Good call! :thumb:

Hi Francois,
Let us know the result of your findings please, you are one of HHAD's leading connoisseurs and your gastronomical posts are always interesting.
Sorry it's off-topic but do you have an opinion of La Paillote?, I really like Brass De Paris but haven't tried the former yet.

Thanks,

SJ

Sorry for answering so late.

IMHO, restaurants like La Paillote or Brasserie de Paris are not made for French, or French speaking persons, but more for tourists. To be honest, I'm always a bit reluctant to have a meal in such restaurants wherever they are and not only in Hua Hin.

On the other I am unfair because I condemn them before giving them a try.

So, I will check both restaurants before leaving for Paris in one month and give my opinion soon.

I had lunch today at this place, and was more than happy. Nice place indeed. I will return.

T.I.G.R. is spot on with the seafood restaurant near Springfield resort. I have a hard time remember thai names of places so remember this one as being very close to sounding like John Wayne.

The seafood is outstanding and prices are reasonable. Suggest you go on a weekday as on weekends it is full of people from Bangkok. They come by the busfull (literally). Not to bad during week though.

Coming from HH when you get to the service station on the right about exit 214 turn right toward the beach go to the end of the road (you are at the beach road) go right for a k or so and you will see a sign on the right for (sounds like John Wayne) it has covered seats on the beach and some inside. If you get to Springfield resort you have gone to far, just past it.

So you don't get confused there is a new development going in called Springfield at Sea. It is where you turn onto beach road.

Don't think you can go to far wrong if you like seafood. Happy eating
