Violence in Udon

Post by lomuamart »

Thai news stations are showing some police charges in Udon - I believe.
They look pretty heavy.
Can anyone confirm that the pictures are today's?

Think they are Lomuamart, my Mrs tells me it's a case of mobs clashing with mobs and it was on the Thai news today, asked her about it.
Those with murkey objectives inciting and preying on the masses, but they are trying to do it everywhere. One of the mobs belonged to the government, or was financed by it.

Yeah,
It had had to happen. Those "boys in brown" were wading in. Seriously violent from the pictures I've seen.
On another level, I've been taking the p*** out of of my wife for her support of PAD every day on the telly, but not much being achieved.
A few minutes ago, she shouted in my face that Udon was where it was kicking off. And she had told me yesterday.
I'm leaving her alone with the knives and food.
She's a PAD supported.
I hope that the western media get hold of the footage as it looked like Chile/Argentina all those years ago.

Agree, always have to check how many sharp implements are around before 'laying it down'.

From The Nation website:
Udon Thani - A supporter of the People's Alliance for Democracy was killed and 20 others were injured when PAD-led protesters clashed with their opponents in this northeastern province Thursday afternoon.

Police said about 1,000 anti-PAD people armed with sticks, machetes and iron bars, stormed into try to demolish the stage of the PAD at about 1:30 pm.

PAD guards tried to fight back and the man was killed in the clash.

The injured people were sent to the provincial hospital.

Udon & Kalasin were paid for provinces in the last three elections. Both are very poor and unemployment is high. These anti PAD mobs are for sure paid for by the opposition. PAD had a roadshow rally on in Udon.

Last I heard on ASTV was two people (PAD supporters) killed by axe attacks.

It is recorded on video so identifying the culprits will be easy. Will anybody be charged, very unlikely.
