So come on guys lets see the prices,

We could start with pickles and condiments.

As JD holds the sole import license on these products I would expect him to sell at a lower price.

Cuts of meat have always been top notch in Villa so how about a comparism in price here.

This is good news, hopefully I will soon be able to buy your fine fare here in Bangkok.

I spy an enormous amount of bullshit and adverts in one thread. I suggest that people check the prices of the aforementioned Irish brand. Not 300 baht. Nice try JD but be more subtle please next time.

I didn't see JD state 300 Baht. He was simply offering a quality, but cheaper alternative.

The original post was a clear invite for an advert. Was the invite from JD? Probably. Surely one advert thread is sufficient. Really I just think it sucks when people are spouting misinformed bollocks here to suck up to a mod and slating people and businesses that don't deserve it (such as the AIHH fiasco).

SuperT I know the OP he bought a house off me, he has nothing at all to do with the shop in question.
Maybe it appears a certain way but it def isnt, what youre talking about does go on and it is hard to judge what is and what isnt unless you know the posters

Here we go again

First it was best bar
Second it was best steak
Third it was best Italian
etc. etc.etc

The price comparison sounds OK but who's going to trawl round checking prices

People also have their personal preferences and may discount costs altogether

OK Compare costs, compare service, compare variety of products (sausages, bacon etc), compare source of products in the places you eat and finally compare quality

Down to personal preferences methinks :D :D

ps I think the OP was refering to Cottage Kitchen

SuperTonic,

You are 100% wrong, I don't even know who bozzman101 is. I was simply referring him to our services because he couldn't find what he wanted elsewhere. I do this all the time, on the forum and in my shop, I even send people up to the 'Irish' companies outlet if I know they have the product being asked for, I will always do this, especially when it comes to food items.

The town is growing very fast, more and more food outlets are opening up, good for the town, good for me, good for everyone. Not once did I mention the supplier Bozzman101 mentioned, I could have, but saw no reason to badmouth another local supplier.

A lot of people buy my sausages and bacon, some people buy my sausages but not the bacon, others buy the bacon but not the sausage. We all have different tastes, rather than think someone has an agenda, accept the fact the each individual is free to choose the produce they want, from where they want.

As far as adverts go, I pay for my advertising on this site, I can mention my products whenever I like, I normally stay away from any threads that mention mine or my competitors products, because of the bullshit that comes from people like you. I notice you have talked up and advertised the 'Irish' companies website on the forum several times in the past, did you see me as a mod or as a general poster, barracking you for having the agenda you so obviously do have.

Thats me off this thread. But I will still advise people on the forum who want to find out where they can find certain products, whenever they ask, even if the product is one I produce. Thats more good manners than advertising.

Another thought

Someone mentioned condiment and pickle prices

Are you going to go all the way across town to get a cheaper jar of Branston pickle?. You'll burn the difference up in fuel costs

We always shop for a month on the long lasting products, household essentials etc a 1 or 2 supermarkets and shop in the market for perishables (fruit and veg) every 3 or 4 days

Whilst gathering the essential household products in the supermarket we browse the pickles and condiments etc and special items

JD is just round the corner from me but it seems pointless to bike it there for a jar of Piccalilli. Having said that JD delivers and if you know which products you like and want it's a phone call. If he hasn't got it he will tell you who has.

Better shutup now before I'm accused of sucking up to a Mod

No way, I'm a Yorkshireman who only speaks his mind

Condiments and Pickles

Richard, as you will of course know prices are displayed by various outlets, Tesco, Makro and others send round flyers with offers on various products.

Here in Bangers we get them all the time.

Its no use some poster complaining about the prices of certain products on a public forum if what he states is clearly wrong, or as stated a placed question, maybe.

Jd has a site on here advertising his products, could we not see the prices also. Not rocket science.

Some of us only come down at weekends so would like to know the best prices for these things while we are here.

I used to know the previous owner of HHHB but not sure if he still lives in the town, but its nice to see his old company still going. JD, does this mean that the 7million baht factory will now go ahead due to your new supermarket contract.

Good point

BUT some small shops that stock the unusuals do not give out leaflets

Some sites are also not kept up to date

I can think of 2 bars that advertise opening hours, fare and take away services and I've been caught out because they do not open at those hours off season

If I was a sponsor I'd expect web update services and the ability to post any specials or changes to my trade on the forums

One poster mentioned prices many others find quality more important. We all have personal tastes and favourites, I use Market Villa, All-In-HuaHin and Ham & Bacon, I go there for the items I like and may also pick up a jar of Picalilly whether its 5 Baht cheaper or dearer.
Most of the products are home made, price comparisons from one steak & kidney pie to another wouldnt be relevant to me

First: I'm no longer a mod, so no agenda here

Second: The OP has nothing to do with JD. Go to Villa & look in the freezers. The OP is not talking about Cottage Kitchen produce, but about US imported sausages that claim to be Irish, Mexican etc. And they are 300bt or more. I was in Villa with another HHAD member (not mod) a few weeks back & I laughingly picked up a pack priced at 450bt for 6 (large) sausages.

Third: JD is one of the most straightforward, honourable, honest men I have ever met in HH. What you are implying is so far beneath him, it would be laughable if it wasn't insulting.

Fourth: I've met Mo on many occasions and think she's a very nice person who wouldn't appreciate this sort of implication on her behalf. Esp, when it comes from a clear misunderstanding.

I use JD's found his prices to be very competitive I too have been round Villa market some of the prices are ludicrous 840 baht for a kilo of cherry tomatoes on the vine about £6 a pound.
JD is very fair and honest in his trading nothing is overpriced and I think Supertonics comment is totally out of order. Has he ever been there I doubt it.

Reading what other Posters have written, he has either not been in to either establishment, or he needs to visit the optician.

Personally, I have only visited JD's establishment. The thing that struck me most about his shop was the cleanliness - I've worked in nuclear clean areas, and the cleanliness of his shop would easily match that. The quality of his products has always been very good.

As for the cleanliness and quality of Villa, they could be as good, but I'd be surprised if they were better - unfortunately, I won't find out until next year.

Basically SuperTonic, all that your informed posting has done is extend the free publicity trail, which I truly believe JD deserves.
