What is the correct english pronunciation of Carrefour ?

As it is not an English word/name, it should be pronounced the same way as it is in French, but as I have never heard a French speaker say it I have no idea! Most people seem to say 'Car4', but i am pretty sure there is meant to be something in the middle, so perhaps 'Caray4' with a rolled 'r' or 2?

Trust me, I speak French and lived there for years...
The first 'a' should be as in 'carry', then roll the r's if you can followed by a very brief 'uh' sound (for the cunning linguists here, that's a reduced vowel called 'schwa') then end with foor (like 'moor', not '4').
Yes, it means crossroads or meeting place.
They are the world's 2nd largest retailer after Wal-Mart but ahead of Wal-Mart in quality by light years. In France it is at the upper end of hypermarkets for quality and selection.
