CJ

Don't take it so hard

I cannot count the number of times I've taken sh1t and most of it deservedly too

Accept that we are a very wide cross section of the global community. different ages, different countries, different up bringing, different jobs, different wealth levels

Lighten up and don't take it so personally. Learn to give as good as you can take

   Keep on posting mate

No Sarge just ignorant and obviously has no idea about Thai culture. Sad sod
Yes Richard and then proved it with the following dribble
Yea, we all know the educated women go straight from university to the bars don't they?
and CJ if you are still there try fitting this into your peanut poor girls dont get the chance of university their families cannot afford it only rich girls get that opportunity because in poor families its only the boys that get a full education
Just because they dont go to university doesnt mean they are uninteligent it just means they are unlucky
I will bet you are educated in your eyes, your previous quoted statements prove my point education does not equate to inteligent

my wife aged 31 is sitting her university degree finals in october because i paid for her to finish her degree she has sailed through her tests so far with no problem

Some Uni girls do hit the bars as it's a 'means to an end'. Parent dough is drying up so they 'bar it' to pay for their education.

Similarly you have to bare in mind 'Thai culture'. I know many girls that stray into the BG/gambling scenario but once they have sorted themselves out it's into the temple for a couple of days for the .re-enlightening. process. A Thai confessional think like Catholics . EVERYTHING IS BUDDHAS WILL anyway :banghead: :banghead:

That is not unique to Thailand either. It definitely happens in the UK.

Let's just clarify that when you say "some uni girls" you're talking about one in ten thousand or less. I really don't think there are dozens of students out there on the streets of HH, Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, etc.

And this "Buddha's will" business is also a misconception in my opinion. That's a Moslem thing, Inshallah - in the hands of God -, not part of any version of Buddhism I know. Sure some people can probably be a bit fatalistic or simply over-confident because they are wearing a powerful amulet, but I've never heard anyone say anything along the lines of "It's Buddha's will". Of course, I could well be wrong!

DM

There is a bar down Binta where several Uni girls meet and ply their wares

As for the Buddha thing, ask a Thai why he doesn't wear a crash helmet on the road or why he's wearing flip flops on a building site. You will get a grin and some sort of comment that all is in the hands of Buddha. Then he will turn to his mates and say 'stupid farang'

I have even seen people discharged from hospitals in the wilds of Isaan with both doctor and family saying 'he/she needs to be home with family as it's Buddhas will for him to die' I have even offered to ferry and pay for a young lad with suspected gangrene to a better hospital in Khon Kaen, only to be more or less told to mind your own business it is Buddhas will

the most likely reply would be he knows its after 6 in the evening and the police have gone home, or he knows the police checkpoints, or no problem he is a policeman :D :D :D

I can support Richard's comments. I know several girls in the bars with good education, up to and including university. Not a majority for sure, but they are there. They have their reasons - some got pregnant, some wanted more money, some want to meet westerners, some want to have fun.

I met one girl, a very well qualified individual whose office had been in Central Plaza before it got fire damaged after the street protests. She came down to HH to keep the cashflow up, and didn't seem to feel there was anything remotely unusual about it.
Had enough of the trolls. Going to sleep. I may be some time....

Indeed BB, as evidenced by this particular story http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/pers ... fraud.html

A bit more lucrative than a Binta bar mind you!! :naughty: :naughty:
