Australia 6 vs 15 Ireland!!

Some monster performances in the Irish pack - thoroughly deserved win!

Ireland vs Wales QF???? :D
It appears I was the only believer on the day. :D I have to be careful though as we go forward, as does Pharvey with Wales, not to let the heart rule the mind. Pete

As for me being careful, well - I just can't bet against Wales, so they'd best win the whole bl**dy thing!! :D

Whew - well done Wales! Hard work though.
After 20 mins I thought the Valley boys would win comfortably, but just a few mistakes at crucial moments. 2nd half Wales came back well, and Samoa didn't respond well to going 7 points behind - decision making not too hot, all too frantic.

I think Wales are missing a classic Welsh fly half.
I also thought Samoa's tactics of fielding several players with Welsh names was a bit below the belt.

Fair play to Wales, a hard game and a deserved win.
And well played Samoa - it's only 3 years since they conceded a ton against the All Blacks.

Well that took about 10 years off my life....

Samoa incredibly physical and more than took the game to Wales. Some mixed performances from Wales - Priestland had some good touches but didn't come close to matching the game he had against SA. Hook, fairly quiet - out of position at Full-back, and Halfpenny made a big difference to the Welsh attack when he replaced Hook at HT. AJW with man of the match performance which Wales certainly needed with this type of game.

Both sides great in defense, with Wales just sneaking the honours there - Samoa just winning the territorial and possession stats.

Wales live to fight for a place in the QF's, my neighbours are looking at sound proofing, my dog is still terrified and the LHG still has the Cardiologist on call......

Congrats to Wales, commiserations to Samoa

WOW

I quite honestly wasn't going to watch this match purely as I thought it was going to be too one-sided.

England giving penalty after penalty away at the breakdown were lucky not to be down to 14 men after 15 mins - the referee finally lost patience around the 35th minute binning the English Hooker for 10 mins.

2 good tries and a penalty from England, 3 missed penalties, 1 converted and a try in the dying moments of the 1st half from Georgia! HT England 17 vs 10 Georgia.

England losing territory and possession stats - and quite honestly Georgia looking the better team!!

Big bollockings at HT for England no doubt, so I expect a very different 2nd half. Fair play to Georgia though!

Playing badly, and still winning by 31 points  England are obviously holding back their best play, to ensure they peak for the final :D

Georgia will certainly take more from this than England.

41 vs 10, 6 tries to 1 it may have been to England, but they scored 3 breakout tries in the final 18 odd minutes against a tiring ''Tier II'' team - something that's not going to happen against the Tier I teams.

50 - 50 on possession, and 57 - 43% territory in Georgia's favour. The biggest worry I would think for England though would be the penalty count - 14 in all and the majority at the breakdown, something that they simply cannot afford to do against the bigger teams.

That said, it's 2 wins from 2 and they top the table with Scotland :thumb:

Congrats on the win, congrats to Georgia on a superb performance, especially from the Georgian Open Side who took man of the match.

OMG  I'm just watching the anthems for the France/Canada game. Isn't that Canadian beard a H&S concern? A French player could get lost for years in there :D

Yes, the next plane home.

But seriously, are the English forwards stupid? The penalty count against Georgia and Argentina was totally unacceptable. Many of the Georgian side play for top-flight clubs in France so they are no mugs and certainly gave England a scare.

The penalty count is ridiculous - and let's be fair, a few today were schoolboy level. IMHO Moody should take a good portion of the blame, not organising the loose forwards or defensive tactics during the game - the backrow were a little clueless at times. England certainly can't afford to continue in this vein. I'm sure MJ will be reading the riot act over the coming days.

Come on England, buck up for Christ's sake - the NH needs to give the SH a good run for their money....

Well, the Garlic Munchers did it, but not without a fight. The Canadian team played well, but again the fitness told in the last 15-20 minutes. France will be pleased with the bonus point win, Canada will (quite rightly) be disappointed with the scoreline. Ultimately there's a fair diference between the two teams on the scoreboard, but Canada have done themselves proud so far in this tournament - more so than a few of the higher profile teams. All good for rugby and fair play to the Canucks - keep it up!!

France 46 vs 19 Canada

Well, the Surrender Monkeys bring us to the end of Round 3....

Pete nails the Yellow Cap purely on his undying love and support of the Paddies - fair play Sir!! Unfortunately this doesn't give him top spot as Jass keeps this by some flukey picks.... Big Boy who was close on his heals, drops bonus points on this round...........

Kalbow and Benks both with good rounds..... but not good enough. Wales win, so I don't give a flying **** where I am in the league!! :thumb: Anyway, I can expel you if need be :butt: :naughty:

Schoolboy level is an understatement :?
It has been a problem for some years now, but the count was higher than usual today, especially first half, shocking!
Particularly worrying considering the opposition too. :?

You're right, they won't get away with it against the better sides. :tsk:
