Del Alli was the star man last night and his Spuds teammates Kane,Dier and Rose were all excellent.
Are we about to see a Spurs domination of the EPL ? :duck:
Englands attack and midfield looks good. Its the centre of the defence which is the concern.
Cahill not really good enough,Smalling not bad but.....
Whose in reserve ? Stones,Jagielka......Phil Jones ! :(
That weakness could cost us dear in Euro 2016.
We're all on our uppers,we're all going skint,

European Championship 2016

Post by dtaai-maai »

England winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been ruled out of this summer's European Championship after suffering his second knee injury of the season.
Shame for the lad, but not a great loss for England. I was astonished to see he already has 24 caps!

England play Russia, Slovakia and Wales, and will be expected to top the group. It will be very interesting to see Hodgson's line-up.
Kane has to be the centre forward, with Vardy on the bench. Alli must be in as well, and probably Dier to bolster a shaky central defence. I've got Rose down for left back, but will Hodgson go for Walker or Clyne?

Is there a place for Sterling? Not in my book. Is there a place for Rooney? Probably to start with in midfield, but he'll need to deliver the goods to keep his spot.

Hodgson has a good squad, but he needs to forget old loyalties and pick the best team on form.
This is the way

I agree, players on form must get the nod.

Even if fit I wouldn`t pick Oxlade-Chamberlain, lots of running around with very little end product. I would sell him and Walcott and invest in a Suarez type player.

Is there any places where you can watch European Championship games in Hua Hin?

[Jimmy Greaves comment] I think it is bolloxed unless you know that you have to remove the SSL part of the URL to make it work, the hint on the youtube click also says enter the full URL. In the past this was not an issue

Well you can't say that Roy is playing it safe. Youngest England squad since '58 and the youngest team at the Euros.

Squad:

Goalkeepers: Joe Hart (Manchester City), Fraser Forster (Southampton), Tom Heaton (Burnley).

Defenders: Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Chris Smalling (Manchester United), John Stones (Everton), Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur), Ryan Bertrand (Southampton), Danny Rose (Tottenham Hotspur), Nathaniel Clyne (Liverpool).

Midfielders: Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur), Ross Barkley (Everton), Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Adam Lallana (Liverpool), James Milner (Liverpool), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), Jack Wilshere (Arsenal).

Strikers: Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Jamie Vardy (Leicester City), Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United).

Gotta say that central defensive is extremely worrying. No-one to choose from really.

Thai Expat TV proudly offers both LIVE AND ON DEMAND coverage of the event with FULL ENGLISH COMMENTARY in outstanding quality. Having the On Demand ability is essential for this tournament as the time difference between France and Thailand with the 9pm games could mean 4am finishes.

Can't wait. ITV 19:00 (uk time) on Expat TV - England vs Russia. The word 'coverage' is used quite loosely though as, as far as I can see, there is only one game being shown this weekend on Thai Expat TV.

BBC 1 are showing two live games on both Saturday and Sunday as well as some highlights.

Thanks Dannie Boy, you're quite right. I didn't see the games on BBC 1. The France game is on tomorrow too, so in total I think there's 5 games being shown.
