Not going to happen Lungy....creating a separate section for this would be tantamount to tacitly admitting there was something amiss and sinister going on.

Jeez...Cherie Blair and Julie Andrews that surf the forum would have a fit.... :lach:

So why did you just not file your "report" in the section that all could see/understand?

I am not sure if there are any buildings with 18 floors in Koh Tao, I seem to remember them being just 2 or 3 floors.

Finally the editors at the Nation have woken up, Bangkok Post still in slumber ...

Frenchman found hung in Koh Tao: foul play suspected
Foul play is suspected in the hanging of a 29-year old Frenchman on Koh Tao in Surat Thani on Thursday, as the man's hands were tied behind his back.
The incident has been widely discussed on social media as bloggers questioned the circumstances around the tourist's death.

Police found the body suspended from the ceiling of a bungalow called Ta Chin that he had rented. He wore only traditional red trousers, his hands were loosely bound with a black string and his neck was attached to a beam of a balcony with a black rope.

His neck showed bruising from the rope.

Police found a suicide note on his bed but no trace of fighting or a struggle in the room.

Witnesses said the man went out for a drink with his buddies at a local bar - Next Door - on New Year's Eve at 5am before moving on to Experience Party where he stayed till 11am. His friends returned to their guesthouses, leaving him drinking alone.

The French suicide note read, "Iris, I love you. Suicide seems easy but it is actually difficult.''

Police and physicians carried out an autopsy and believe that the cause of death was asphyxiation. The case is being treated as a suicide and not homicide.

The corpse has been sent to Koh Tao Temple in Surat Thani's Koh Pha-ngan |district.

No mention of Koh Tao in the Danish case, Gus. Two different incidents.

There are links to Danish and Thai newspaper reports. You'll have to do with my comments. Want more? Feel free to translate.

I knew 2 fellows who used to holiday at Koh Tao, and they
have both moved to Hua Hin. I was told that not only was it
a pain to stay on an island, because of the ferry travel, and depending
on good weather to get to or from the island,
but because of the expenses as well. They also felt safer
living in Hua Hin, with more to do, more places to eat at, and only 2 hours from BKK.
Good hospitals in the HH city, a choice of buses, mini vans, trains,
and even planes to get to and from Hua Hin were also
the factors I heard, as a better reason to live and stay in
Hua Hin versus Koh Tao or other island places.
Pluto is my favorite planet!, especially now that we all can see close up
pictures of it.
