Quality Check List .....

Post by miked »

no not a roofer
at present we are renting a house from my wife's sister. its 3 years old and has been built the thai way, all for show.
its single brick, no roof vents, no earth in the wiring and the roof panels have been drilled and bolted. its hot as hell and the roof has leaked from day 1. sometimes if very lucky we have water from the taps.
the plus side is its not my house and not my problem. its made me realise though that having a house built here you need to be in control or employ someone to do that. thais can build properly and to a very high standard.

Burger,
As it is not a Mods job to compile any lists you can sod off!
However, as a poster on this board, not a mod, I would like to ask you to name any or all of the projects in or around Hua Hin that you know of that meet all the conditions that you and others listed on this thread? I am sure others would be interested to know, and also how much these homes are being sold for? I suspect for those wanting a part time place in the sun the price may be too steep, so they are prepared to either put up with some minor issues or will remain blissfully unaware otherwise. Useful starting point to help buyers though, and if your checklist and advice is followed by many we could see a lot of unfinished projects....

That's the spirit WL real positive stuff there, the board's members will be grateful for all your efforts.

Just thought it might be helpful to them if under your property section, where you already have various good information about buying, including a 'Property Inspection' list, this additional information could be added like, to assist people.

What's the office address, I'll come round and do it myself if you like, coz I iz wicked at Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V, that Michael Caine bloke can make me a cup of tea, by Christ he owes me a drink or two anyway
Maybe this show of laziness is why you have such a rotund posterior ?? (only jesting mate, please don't ban me again, I'll have to make conversation with the wife if I can't come on here  )

It's a wish list, not compulsary requirements, people or their advisers can judge for themselves the importance of a house that doesn't meet certain items. Structural stuff is a must though, I'd say.

Burger

PS: I wouldn't want to name other projects, and don't know them all well enough anyway.

I have no interest in the property game. Just reading through the posts, as I'm probably the first one up this am. See WL was on a couple of hours ago.

I'm with WL on the lazy ar$ed mods comment. Not really the way to influence people to do your bidding....

Besides, I'm far too busy being lazy! :P So, 2 down, 5 & admin to go...

Dawn,

Those that know me, Lev, Buski, Dave etc knows that was not a serious comment, lighten up you all.

You and WL may not be interested in property, but many of your members are, and you do have a comprehensive property section, with lots of good advice already.

Really glad I sat down for a couple of hours and complied it now ..... NOT.
Not really the way to influence people to do your bidding
What does that mean exactly ?

Maybe your turn to lighten up, Burger. I was only joking. Hence the smileys...

Nice try, but sorry that don't wash, there was a dig about bidding/self interest, which if you knew, couldn't be further from the truth.

So you can't either be bothered to compile a master list for your members because you have no interest in property, bet all those members (incl me) who helped you in your hour of need with keeping the dog's home open, feel great now.
By the way, I bet not many of us had an interest in scabby soi dogs, but we bothered to help cos you're a caring person, who deserved help.

That's quite a statement Burger.
You are in the property business, you know what's going on, why can't you compile this master list?
I think you and everybody else know the answer why this is impossible to do on a public forum.
None of the mods are in the property business but we are the ones who receives the flak, not from the HHAD members, but from some of your colleagues.
I intend to live forever - so far so good.

Completely missed the point Norseman.

I did compile the list already, someone added to it and more should who are in the business (I already wrote this too.)

All I asked the mods to do is 'compile the list from everyone's posts', put it together and list it on here under the property section, rather than it being lost in a thread.

No-one was asking any of you mods to actually add technical items to the list.

COMPILE not CONSTRUCT.

I have no idea what you're on about Burger. "bidding" simply meant "what you had told us to do". I don't know what you think I mean, but I swear, hand on heart, that is all I meant. If it was an unfortunate choice of words, I'm sorry, but I still don't know what about that sentence has upset you. If I'm supposed to be in the know about something & making a dig, I assure you, not only am I not having a dig, I have no idea what you think I'm having a dig about. God, that's even got me confused... :?

I know you helped me & I'm very grateful for that. I don't think I would be very good at making a master list for anyone about property, as I know nothing about it (hence, no interest). Maybe I should write up the Premier League matches or start a thread about motorbikes/cars, as well? (Other subjects I know nothing about, as I have no interest.)

I have no idea what I did to deserve that post, but as you obviously feel I was having a go, I apologise for whatever I unwittingly said.

Hi Dawn,

The 'bidding' bit, I read as promoting my business on here which I have never done in the last two years. Maybe I read it wrong.

I can't fall out with you as you are a nice lady.

I just thought a list would be useful to the members, as the biggest issue on here seems to be about property rip-offs.

I was only asking a mod to compile/collate the list from people's posts, not actually write it yourselves.
You already have a section like this on your property site.

Thought it might be useful to people.

Cheers,

Burger

Hey Dawn or other mod,

Any chance of deleting this whole thread please, I've made a new one with just the relevant posts and left off all the arguing/mis-understanding posts.

Make it clearer for everyone and save some of us embarrassment

Cheers folks,

What I've done is to lock this for the time being.
I think that maybe the list should be a sticky. That way, it becomes a definite one, but to which more can be added, but only by mods. Additions would come from members in a general discussion on the forum.
So, I've locked your second thread as well, Burger.
Let's wait for Admin to wake up and take a look at things then.
This seems to me to the fairest way of doing things. One sticky thread, that can grow and another for general discussion.
Bear with us. The threads can easily be unlocked.
