I’ve watched the scene numerous times and I’m absolutely certain he never intended to hit the opponent, he was just venting his frustration at being pulled back. Definitely in the “old days” where there’s no intent then a yellow card would have been the maximum penalty - these days who knows?

Agree, no intent to hit just frustrated

But should that behaviour be allowed? Not a good look
Why didn't they follow the rules (if yt vid is correct, intent or not)?

Well that’s the conundrum - my view is that with intent and no contact it’s a sending off, without intent it isn’t. Yes it wasn’t pretty to watch and from some angles it looks far worse, but from the angle that I gauge there was no intent, it’s not a red card - I’m sure some will disagree?

I disagree

Otherwise you could have players throwing punches at each other, missing(easily done) and then claiming they had no intent to make contact.

Far better and more sensible to simply outlaw any such violent actions, intent or not.

For me it's a red and I think the law needs to be clear on that and applied appropriately.

I was confident that some would disagree which is why I ended with that comment - it’s a free world to think what you want

It’s good to see one of the “small” teams doing well - Nottingham Forest are certainly performing above their expected level, which is a huge reflection on all those at the club. Unless they do a Leicester of 2015/16, I doubt they’ll finish the season in their current 2nd position, but it would be good to see them qualify for Europe above some of the supposed “big” teams.

Elsewhere, Liverpool continue scoring goals for the fun of it - difficult to see any of the chasing pack catching them, but let’s see!!

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear - Are there any Manure supporters on the Forum?

"Newcastle beat Manchester United in a league game at Old Trafford for only the second time since 1972 to condemn their hosts to a third straight home loss in all competitions for the first time in more than 60 years.

Not since Sir Matt Busby's days in the 1962-63 season have Manchester United lost three home games in a row in all competitions."

Damn, they're only 7 points above the "Relegation Zone" - could you imagine?

Maybe the problem wasn’t Ten Hag after all, it’s just the players?

Only 11? I thought the standard Wendyball squad for these teams must be 40+...

/\ 33 squad players. I would ditch the lot of 'em apart from Ugarte, Mainoo and Amad Diallo

Well we knew United and Spurs are currently pretty shit at the moment. Saving grace for Spurs is we haven't had any first team central defence or goalkeeper for a little while... excuse! 😄

But what has happened to Chelsea? Since sitting pretty in 2nd place and Maresca saying "we are not in a title race", they've taken just 1 point from Everton, Fulham and Ipswich. It's as if the players wanted to prove him right asap.

Nice to see nevertheless.
I don't trust children. They're here to replace us.

Hell's Teeth, I might just watch the Wendyball come Sunday  Rugby kicks off at 3pm, the LHG is out with her "Bottom Jaw Lady Friends" and Liverpool will only have begun kicking Manure's collective backsides by the time Bath have taken a 9 (or possibly 10) point lead in the Rugby Premiership! Happy Days... :thumb:

Pretty sure the rugby will still be on - though I wouldn't fancy playing myself!! The round ball games further north may be in question though...
