Thank goodness for lunch. Gives me time to leg it to the local for the final ecstasy/agony.

Dubious, the ball hit the bat, there was a plenty of noise to confirm this and also a hot spot. What's dubious about that?

I was listening to the match on radio 5 extra and the commentators were casting doubts over the decision and saying things like "there have been instances when hotspot has missed a nick" and "they sometimes pick up something when it didn't come off the bat". Anyway England won a very tightly contested match that had been predicted a formality, so I'm sure there will be a few more twists and turns before the outcome of the Ashes is known.

How do you follow that? I can't recall such a gripping test match. The depth of the Aussie batting is going to cause us problems later. Those 5-0 predictions look unrealistic.

Both sides batting line ups are so unpredictable that there are bound to be many more twists and turns in this series.

Don't know, however it's on BBC radio 5 live if you have access?

DB, I seem to have problem getting that station and also Test Match Special, it was Ok last year but something is amiss now because I can get BBC 2 and 4 OK

Anybody with the answer. I have downloaded the BBC Player

Awesome match... I really feel that our win is tainted by Broad not walking when it was almost middled to slip, I was brought up to walk if you knew, I once walked for a LBW - i was plumb in front and one of our guys was umpiring (in junior cricket our team manager and the opposing team manager would umpire the games), it was a super tight game and I knew he would have got stick for giving me out so I just went... then i git shit loads of stick!!

Hopefully its a tight series with games like this and obvioulsy i hope we win.

Anyone wanting to wtch online try this link - http://livecricket.livet20worldcup.com/ ... nel-5.html

Enjoy :)

I was listening to Radio 5 live via iPlayer on my iPad - there are often programmes that are broadcast live in the UK that you cannot receive in Thailand, so I was a bit surprised when I tried and found I could pick it up.

What a difference a day makes. Australia, hopeless batting and England not much better with their reply. Why didn't Cook enforce the follow-on? The Aussies were on the ropes. Perhaps he thought the wicket would deteriorate further, so getting runs on the board was the priority.

Cook, Clarke, Pietersen. Where's the centuries?

England don't look the same team as that which won the Ashes so famously in Australia.

Anyone find an internet stream that works? I keep getting messages the flash player isn't working, on cricinfo. While the Pakistan feed keeps cutting odd the match to prattle on about Pakistan v West Indies.

cricfree.tv was working ok for me, albeit rather stop-start for the first hour or two.

PET - Try going to this link http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/ where you will find the Radio 5 Live. It works better than going through the BBC Website.

That's a great link Bernard but although I have the iPlayer downloaded the box just keeps saying 'Loading' and no sound - somebody said I need to have my IP address in UK ?

I listened to the 1st test in Thailand last week on radio 5 live and I only have a Thai IP address. I'm in the UK this week, so obviously no problems listening here!! (114-3 at lunch).

The Ashes may follow the 2012 Olympics in the way that the county of Yorkshire single handedly out performs Australia. :duck:
