Anybody watching this? Remarkable debut by a number 11. I used to fast bowl and batted 11. My highest score for a decade was 3! To see this guy Agar break an 111 year record and make England look such amateurs is amazing. Finn was absolutely brainless giving him short balls to hit.

We had them on the floor. He's 69 as I type. Can he make a century and become an Ashes legend?

Well he certainly helped turn this match on its head ending up with 98 and England losing 2 cheap wickets has given the Aussies the upper hand.

Two suspect decisions. Trott looks in great form. He definitely got an edge. You can see the ball's direction change before it hit his pad. Big loss for England that could cost them the match.

What a ball Anderson bowled to take Clarke.

Pieterson and Cook both to make double centuries. :thumb:

C'mon, ya miserable lot. One of the most gripping test matches you'll ever see and you're strangely silent. Swann rubbish until those final two wickets. Clarke refusing to walk. A fifth day's play to come when it looked like it wouldn't last three. Will Agar repeat his astonishing performance? Can't wait for the final chapter.

Bit tabloidy there, Mr P.
Broad refused to walk on Friday when not given out after a clear thick edge. 20 years ago he'd have been blackballed from the MCC, today it seems to be generally accepted that pros don't walk. I don't expect the same applies on the village green!
Clarke was given out and exercised his right to challenge the umpire's decision. He must have genuinely thought he was not out, otherwise that was an idiotic waste of a challenge.

Yes, it's a cracking game, and it would be even better if I got the download speed I pay for...

Agar the other day and the Aussie openers yesterday made this pitch look dead easy for a few hours. Otherwise, it's been a 'funny old game'. Mainly because of a number of poor performances, I think.

Sorry Mr P, each to his own, but personally, I'd get more pleasure watching paint dry.

Cricket never has/never will be my game.

I'm limited to the low quality, stop/start links I posted. The Sky stream speeds up quite late in the evening.

I've nothing better, I'm afraid. You could try day.to if you haven't already. The cric site does have a few alternatives such as Star Sport, and although it occasionally freezes completely, loses sound or magically converts to an ad, it's easy to reload.

Unfortunately I don't usually make it much past the tea break!

Understood. Soccer used to interest me but too many years of talentless, shirt-pulling, diving foul-mouths has taken its toll.

Maybe if the England football team transforms its fortunes, like the cricket team has, I'll give it another look. A 5-1 drubbing of Germany will be a good start.
