Heard last night that proper gates will be installed next month; let's hope this really does happen. It was interesting during our meal in the area last evening three trains went by and only one sounded its horn and then only briefly.

I bet that was because one of the guards was stood on the tracks directing traffic with his back to the oncoming train (which I've actually seen happen in the last few days  ).

Let's hope they're full-width gates, and not ones that just cover your half of the road...

One day, Lung Per, I'll see you say something positive about Thais.
About as likely as a ski run on Hin Lek Fai.
This is the way

You seem to be reading my postings the same way the devil reads the bible.

As for the soi 94 crossing and any other railway crossing, go see for yourself. Looks like Thai motocys are ready to commit suicide every day.

As for my postings in general, yes, I have a critical eye and sometimes a sarcastic pen. I am used to freedom of expression and a no-censorship environment, something you cannot enjoy fully in Thailand.

However, I do write positively about Thais when there is a reason for it. E.g. I fathered this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=22525&p=284659&hili ... ve#p284659
Now you can go ski run on Hin Lek Fai.

May the rays of the great Bhudda's eyes put warmth in you belly and give you a blessed day.

Don't just sit back there focusing on my posts. Here's a whole load of people having something "not positive" to say about Thais. And I am not (yet) one of them. viewtopic.php?f=44&t=23835
Now, get your little fingers going on your keyboard, rant at every-one, there's plenty to choose from.

As I've already said, there are so many distractions there now, avoiding trains is the last thing on your mind. :?

By the way, I see they've got a bigger, stronger gazeebo to obstruct the view now.

I've just seen it all - TTT. Thailand, Truly Thailand

Sat at soi 94 crossing, the temporary barriers were across waiting for a train to go through. A motorcyclist drove up to the barrier from the other direction. He had a word with the guard, and she pulled the barrier back and let him through.

OK, the train wasn't so close that it was going to hit him, but if he'd slipped, he have probably been a gonner.

Today's quiz question:

1) He was late for work.
2) He was late to see his mia noy.
3) He had to pee real bad.
4) He was an undercover cop on a mission.
5) Rules and regulations just don't compute.

Fortunately, nobody seems to be taking notice or enforcing it.

I think the no cars are for the road immediately left after the crossing - well that is what I assumed???? Who knows!
