I have to agree with you on the way that the DNA evidence gathered in the Kao Tao murders was handled. Like most murders in Thailand, when the MIB arrive, they allow the world and his wife to crawl all over the crime scene and handle critical evidence, with there grubby little hands!
Having said that, I still feel that when DNA evidence is gathered correctly it can be a powerful tool, in proving either guilt or innocence of anyone accused of the crimes.
Stitching up some poor foreigners is another matter.
Thai Thai police should invest in a few rolls of " Crime scene do not cross" tape and training for officers in how to secure a crime scene. But, as you say, TIT.
