Missing girl on train found dead, raped

This story has unfolded in the Hua Hin area over the past few days. Thai social media is up in arms to lynch the guy.

While I am usually implacably opposed to the death penalty, this case is a pretty much slam dunk example of where it would be justified! Horrific.

EDIT: But the other side of the coin.......heinous crimes against children often results in the person being done in by other prisoners in due course. How do I know? Previous wife's father was a warden for 30 years.

He is still young. With all Royal pardons in Thailand, he will certainly not die in jail.
After 20 years in jail he can start again. There is only one way: Death penalty.

Dealth penalty is far too easy a way out, let him think it over for the next however many years in prison

A truly horrific crime which can not be tolerated in any society. The death penalty is too good for him, if tried and proven guilty. The death penalty is not the punishment that fits the crime, I'm not sure what punishment can but execution is not harsh enough...it's too quick. No I'm not a bleeding heart softie. Give him hard labour for life in the most despicable prison available .....and when I say life, I mean life and not 20 years and then parole.

He has clearly gone for the soft option by pleading guilty. The judicial system should ensure that there is no soft way out for this and other similar despicable crimes....make them pay!

I think part of his punishment should be castration. If they do let him out after a period, he isn't going to repeat the offence. Also, he wouldn't be able to pleasure himself while locked up.

We had a big back and forth between the wife and I today about this. My contention is upbringing and never taught the difference between right and wrong, what is moral and immoral etc. In other words, it's generational here, and castration should have begun generations ago, as education didn't...and still doesn't! Bluntly put, some people should never reproduce.

The wife agrees in her own way. Her words more or less with literary license..."....these things always happen because men can't control the thing between their legs....".

EDIT: In the heat of the moment she and others have changed their Facebook profile photos to the below which more or less translated to "death for rape and killing". I see a protest pattern developing here similar to what happened in India a few months ago.

About 17 years ago as a relative of my former wife, I met a woman who spent 20 years in jail for killing her husband or boyfriend when she was 20. Out of jail at 40, she was still fit and agressif.
So don't expect from that kind of people to think in jail about their wrongdoing.

I would imagine that serving a 20 year sentence inThailand would be significantly more of a hardship than say the UK, so whilst I fully support everybody wishing that this guy gets whatever is coming to him, I wish they would make it tough everywhere for anybody committing such hideous crimes, especially the punishment that BB was advocating.
