@Jose: I thought those electronic devices were mainly a scam, but didn't know there were ones with frequencies targeted at specific species. Do you know if such a device targeting spiders and snakes is available here in HH?
@GLCQ: While golden tree snakes are not all that big in diameter, what you see in the pics I posted yesterday is just the shed skin of this fellow (gal?). They do grow to 4m long, and are not really a threat to humans -- apparently they'd have to latch onto a finger and gnaw away to drip any venom into the wound, and even then it's not lethal to adults.
However, my main concern (besides being creeped out by going into my kitchen <g>), is that if this harmless snake can manage to get in there, and is motivated to do so for some reason, what's to keep a less-harmless snake from doing the same? I'd certainly be alarmed to find a Malayan pit viper in there ... and the floor tile is brown/tan, the same color as one!
