For those of you needing fairly accurate road maps - and let's face it Thailands' maps are notoriously crap - then I would recommend the above products.

I am using the Bangkok and Thailand editions - each comes with a CD ROM in English / Thai plus the standard paper map.

They have been updated each year and are based on Satellite mapping so they are quite decent.

A snip at THB 300 each. :thumb:

I have these too, they are very good.

You can add favorite locations on the SW Version, plan routes, search etc...

Very good, adn a new update issued each year, so they stay upto date and include all the new roads.

Can cut and paste into other applications as well

Terry, is this an online update, or do you have to buy the latest edition each time? I have both, but maybe a couple of years older.

Another thing I have found with using the Thailand edition is that the resolution is not as good as the Bangkok edition.

If you have internet access, try using this website

I found it on the thinknet.com website a long time ago; this is the one I use now. The upcountry resolution is much, much better.

Vincent

I am aware of this website and concurr with your comments re resolution.

I am on the third 'Bangkok' version and the 2nd 'Thailand' version of the CD as I have not found any site that can provide them as downloads.

The 'fun' starts when you compare them with Google Earth or Google Maps

Things are looking up but there still seems to be a lacking of hi res data and coordination between GPS data and satellite imagery in Thailand.

Personally I think the maps are more important than the images.

You can download a CD from this URL if you first install a client such as uTorrent.
