Got a friend here now who does offshore construction work in the UK
He's looking to base himself here and work anywhere to do it
Any guys and gals out there have any contacts/websites he can contact?
Cheers

It’s none of my business what people say and think of me. I am what I am and do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. It makes life so much easier.

Heh, I'm in the same boat mate.
Best bet is to wait out the Offshore season in Thailand until May time when the shutdown season kicks off again.
Bang out some CVs and cross the fingers and wait for the money come a sailing in.
Works for me
... usually
Was hoping to get some work here in LOS doing diving (hard hat) but the global slump has hit sub-sea work and only those on the inside lookng out are getting the work.
I've got some leads for Xmas but haven't heard anything back yet.
If I get the nod and they need more bodies I'll give you a pm.
The hitch is that you normally (if you are freelance) only get a short time in which to show up at the heliport (in the UK) so commuting from Thailand is tricky, given that it'll take about 24 hours to get a ticket sorted and be back in Blighty.
If you are on the books (salary) then it is a lot easier to live permenently out in LOS on a 2 week on 3 week off rotation. UK SECTOR.
However for me I prefer freelance.
The best is the sub-sea sector which gets you 4 weeks on, 4 weeks off and offers a great lifestyle.
Those guys are the real hell-raisers and live life like playboy millionaires
