Hua Hin kite festival 2009

Post by buksida »

Any one know which weekend it's on? It's usually held in March, naturally there is nothing about it on the HH municipality or TAT website.

The event is quite a spectacle and definitely worth a look, here are some pics from last year:

Buksi,

All I can tell you is it should be soon. It was on the weekend of March 8th and 9th last year. They advertise it more in Cha-Am because it's actually held on a military (government?) area closer to there than Hua Hin.

I only knew about it last year because a friend who lives in Cha-Am told me about it. I'll try to get in touch with him and if he knows anything about it I will post the information here.

In past years it has been advertised on a banner on the wall of the base where it’s held, so if anyone is passing by maybe they could have a look.
I would be interested in finding out as I’ve promised to bring my partners son down to Hua Hin in a couple of weeks and if it is possible, he would enjoy visiting that.

Frantic search and nothing about any dates of the Kite Festival...
But I did find something on the annual Elephant Polo Cup later in March up in the North...

I checked with my Cha-Am friend and he said that it is not being promoted/advertised there yet either.

Oh well, it looks like we’ll have to wait another year for a kite festival then, I was sure they held that every year.
Thank-you for finding out anyway, elem.
