Daily Activities in HH?

Post by Poe »

Have a list going of things to do in HH, but every time I look at it I usually come up with a “naaa” for everything.
These are mainly things just to get the GF & I out of the house for a couple of hours each day and that don’t cost an arm and a leg.
Here is what is on the list so far….notice no drinking and/or bar-hopping……I manage to do that all too well already.
Arcade
Bowling
Fishing
Frisbe on the beach
Go Carts
Go check out new Restaurant
Golf
Gym
Massage
Movie Cinema
Shoot Pool
Walk on Beach
Fly a kite
Swimming

Any idea’s on what to add?

Thanks,
Poe (Getting Bored)

If you're getting bored, this might not help but - relaxing?

Arcade
Bowling
Fishing
Frisbe on the beach
Go Carts
Go check out new Restaurant
Golf
Gym
Massage
Movie Cinema
Shoot Pool
Walk on Beach
Fly a kite
Swimming ...
shooting at one of the (2) gun ranges
water sports
sightseeing
elephant camps
paintball
zoo
...

Many of the things listed other than Lomu's suggestion of relaxing and (from the list) frisbie, walking on the beach, sightseeing, swimming (in the ocean), and possibly flying a kite depend on you having a tourist budget of 1000 to 5000 baht per day to spend if you are going to enjoy these activities. I, like a lot of residents here, wish I could take full advantage of what Hua Hin has to offer but sadly I can only talk about most of the options rather than being able to experience them.

I'm personally bored sh*tless here, but it's not from a lack of things to do in Hua Hin, it's from a lack of financial means to do them!

Spend a day at Springfield Golf Course's swimming pool, the best pool in Hua Hin ? Small charge for general public, never more than 10 people there, in-expensive restaurant/bar next to pool, spa facilities half the cost of equivalent standard in town.
Perfect for kids, got massive shallow area, water slide, sand beach, waterfall etc.

Often the case that the Thai GF doesn't like walking much (if at All) and has a fairly low bordom threshold. Speaking generally of course.

So often good to combine a few simple low cost activities; Local Bus or Sangntaew to some where..Khao Tao for instance; short walk to the village sit by the reservoir - nice cool fresh water. Something to eat of course, restaurant on the front is pretty good, don't let them over charge you. A wander around the Temple complex, can even go over the top to Sai Noi and get a Tuk Tuk back to the Main road. My Missus likes this sort of day out...Phetchaburi, Pa la u, Tha Yang etc..

A Good two hour Thai Massage....

Apparently amongst Thai College student applications the most common entries under 'Hobbies' are Sleeping and visiting shopping Malls!

Best wishes

Agree about Hin Lek Fai viewpoint, amazing how many people don't know about it or go up there. I love gawping, me.

I also like a trip just up to Chaam beach, for lunch makes a bit of a change.

Found it. (Springfield Village) Heading north from Hua Hin to Cha Am I turned left at the 215M mark where there was a sign. Drove west across railroad tracks and then hyw 4. It was on the left.
Fancy place and I did not feel comfortable at all. Too upscale for people like me. Looked around and never did see the pool before I gave up.

Steve,

Can you give specific directions to the palace. I keep hearing about it but in all the years I've been here, I've never seen it.
