Wanted-A fully loaded Pizza to eat in HH.

Post by usual suspect »

I'm on the search for an Italian R/rant that serves Pizzas with a loaded topping.
I've tried about 4 restaurants now and the pizzas look like they have had all the topping-ingredients in a blender first then spread on top prior to baking (Casa Mia being the worst for this, dont believe the photo in their ad)
I want to see anchovies (not taste anchovy paste) want to see mushrooms, capsicums, olives, all reconisable, not an orange/yellow cheesey mess. Lucky restaurant is my fave so far,but lets hear of anywhere else thats not affraid to serve a proper-looking pizza.
(No I dont want to take part in a pub-quiz on Fisherman's Wharf to taste real Italian food thanks)

Recently had a great pizza at Celestino Italian restaurant at Grand Pacific hotel in Cha-Am. Great choice of toppings but hotel prices.

We recently had a Pizza by Yanee home delivery (28" Super size family) and although not cheap, was probably the best we've had in a long time. Plenty of selection with the toppings and takeaway menu is downloadable from the internet.

Pizza I ate at Casa Mia didn't have everything smashed up in a blender.
Have things changed there?

Pizza

We have had bad luck at Pizza by Yanni and have resolved not to eat there again. ( Not just the pizza, but their pasta/pesto was probably the worst I have ever had)

We always hold up the Pizza Corner as the best pizza in town . .and you cant beat the location for people-watching or the restaurant for friendly. attentive staff. ( corner:Naresdam/Damnoenkasem)

Not sure what "fully loaded" means but you can watch their chef produce great homemade crispy pizza from scratch . . .unlike the Pizza Company/Pizza Hut productions which are probably flash frozen months in advance and so heavy in fat that you can feel your arteries clogging as you eat! (Double Cheese, deep dish, sausage crust salami pizza!)

Yeah, I also dont think we need to go into that silly discussion of only eating Thai food in Thailand, Italian food in Italy, English food in England, Japanese food in Japan. etc etc. . . variety is the spice of life after all. (And I for one do not like most Thai food . .either too spicy, too slimy or too strange tasting for me!)

Please see my first comment in this thread:

I still stand by it... :D
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Pizza Corner

Post by Chas »

I note in that other thread that I am not alone in voting Pizza Corner the best in town . . .but then I have not tried several of the other nominees and I am basing my judgment mainly on the comparison with the Pizza HUT/CO productions.

There is also a certain degree of personal preference involved here . .some people like two inches of cheese and a double sausage crust! Our tastes are bound to differ and thats OK.

Thanks you lot for the mini-good-pizza-guide...will have to get out there and try 'em now.
As for eating pizza in Thailand?...theres only so much rice & noodles you can take...my 'high-level'light is flashing and that means Western-stodge intake needed...Cheers U.S.

Someone mentioned Victoria at the Thipurai hotel and I do agree they serve excellent pizzas. I do also have a proper pizza oven.

The pizza base was O.K. but the topping was a bit poor. The second time I had Lasagne which was very good. But my missus was very much delighted, because they have Isaan food and she could put it together herself after her own taste. It's also very reasonably priced.
