Airport Parking

I have to fetch some people early next month which entails parking and going inside to find them.

Are directions to the parking lots well marked on the entrance road, is there a long term and short term lot, and how far of a walk from parking to arrivals. Thanks. Pete

The car parks are very near the Terminal building and well signed. The one I used was on the ground floor level. To enter the building you cross the road and use lifts to get to the arrival level.

Just to second what Riverside wrote, the parking is well placed. It's multi-storied so you can park at the most convenient level for arrivals. Their are covered pedestrian bridges so you don't have to walk across the roadway, or get caught in a downpour. I've picked up folks at swampy many times and have had no problems. Oh, and yes the signage is clear.

Yeah, but you'd have to spend your vacation in Rayong.

The flight I'm meeting is the TG nonstop from LA. What are you on that gets in at 0108? Pete

It's China Air. The difference in price was too much for a bean counter like me to resist.

I've flown China Air a few tiimes and it's always been good.

I think they're paying about 1,500 r/t which includes their connecting flights from the east coast. Pete

Don't want to mislead anyone. Above is incorrect, they're using their frequent flyer miles from east coast to west coast. The 1,500 is their r/t fare LA>BKK>LA. Pete

Yes, there is a huge premium for Thai Air's non stop.

We are paying, with tax, $620 rt from Los Angeles. It's about 15-16 hours to Taipei, 1.5 hrs layover, and 3.5 hours from there to BKK about.

The non stop, I believe, is around 17 hours.

A lot shorter, but at the cost

That's a good price Migrant. We used to get r/ts for under a thousand bucks when living in the U.S. too, but what I can't figure out is that every time I check on the reverse round trip (departing from and returning to Bangkok) the price is double than if it originated in the states (around 1500 U.S.D) last time I checked (been a few months, maybe the fares have dropped).

The other problem here is that I usually have had to go buy the ticket at a travel agent in person here. It seems that most of the airlines will not accept payment online from a (U.S. bank issued) credit card with a Thai billing address (again, may have changed as I haven't tried lately).
