A new one

Just when you thought you've seen it all.

I had to drive to Rayong City this morning at rush hour. Arrived at a very busy intersection where the light had just turned red, and to everyone's surprise the digital second counter started to count up from zero rather than down.

People scratching their heads, consulting with the motorbikes next to them and had no clue what to do. Some started to creep through the intersection against the light when the counter reached around 150 seconds nearly causing many accidents as the traffic with the green was still coming. When the counter hit 240 seconds it turned green and guess what, the counter once again started counting upward.

I hope someone fixes it as by this afternoon or they'll be people who have given up and sitting on the curb suffering from complete mental breakdowns.

Must say that I like the clocks that count down and give reference to how long you have to sit at a light but counting upwards

........ surprised it even has that option in the software that governs it.

Reminds me of the lift system at work, on the control panel it says "Thai logic chip inside", hardly confidence inspiring.

I think the problem was that they reset the timing each day to longer intervals 0730-0930 and then again in the afternoon rush hour. There's 100,000+ people going and coming from work at those hours at Mataput industrial factories. Some genius screwed up.

I went back to pick up my car at the shop this afternoon and they were working fine, and the red only 120 seconds at that intersection instead of 240. Pete

Actually,

I prefer it to mean HHAD DICT my dear chap. 'Dict" is now an official, recognized word meaning dictionary.

As President of the HHAD Eastern Seaboard Chapter, I would like to thank those who bestowed this honour upon me.

Now, can we cut the crap and get back to chasing women and drinking beer. I'm shaking already as it's been 30 bloody minutes!
