This comes into effect today. We'll have to wait and see if it's something positive for us consumers here. I would think the same electronic products we buy in the West that are made in China will now be sold here in Thailand duty free. Let's see if anyone spots computers, cameras, TV's etc., rapidly decreasing in price. I say this under the assumption that products made in China with Japanese or Korean brand names will enjoy the same benefits. I'm not sure about this though. Pete
Nowreally.... Who do you think will benefit from the duty reductions - the consumer or the business??? C'mon now, seriously. Any reductions in retail price will come as a big surprise to me... But I am looking forward to a glass of beerlao.
I'm having a Beer Lao dark right now! As far as I know it is not available at the moment in Hua Hin though. I get it by the case when we go to Issan or at a few places in Bangkok and other cities/towns.
It is the best beer (imo) in SE Asia and better than many European beers. I spent a lot of time in Munich while working for Siemens and both the lager and the dark Beer Lao remind me of German beers.
Now if I could just find a Pilsner as good as the Czech ones (Budweiser Budvar or Pilsner Urquell) here.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
