If this is in the wrong place please feel free to move it. Anyway, to cut a long story short......I'm looking to buy a cheap secondhand 6 or 7 iron so I can get some practice in at hitting a golf ball. Yes, I think it's time to start playing, bearing in mind that I've never even hit a golf ball in my life. Obviously I will end up buying a set of irons at a later stage but I've been told to start with a 6 or 7 just to get the hang of it. So, if anyone has one of these for sale, or better still, to donate to my good self, please let me know.

Go down to that little golf shop in Pranburi, they have hundreds of cheap clubs for sale - you'll find something for a couple of hundred baht. Its on the left just after the bypass meets the road from Takiab.
Be careful though, golf is highly addictive despite the fact that you will still feel like you've never hit a ball in your life after playing for a year or two!

Also a little shop close to the old shopping mall, think they have single irons - make sure you get something with a cavity in the back - like this - http://www.taylormadegolf.com/mainlevel ... PopUp=0#30
Take some lessons to start, you must have the basics of grip and stance before u have any chance of hitting it!
Have fun... golf is trully the grestest game.
I went to that shop you mentioned and yes they have plenty to choose from. After I mentioned the place to friends who play golf, they too went there and so have some friends of theirs so I guess that shop owes you a thank-you considering they've made a few thousand baht. Anyway, I settled on a 6 iron for starters and at the moment I'm just practicing making proper contact with the ball. Will be heading off to the driving range in the next few days

Thanks for the advice. I actually bought the iron before reading your post but fortunately I bought one with a cavity at the back. Anyway, now I know what to look for when I start buying more irons.

Guys
Would this little golf shop sell anything ressembling a golf driving net for the garden?
My wife plays but she doesn't practice enough, and when i ask her why she doesn't go to the driving range i get various excuses, putting a small net up in the garden would help her i'm thinking.
