I stayed there a few years ago and it was, just fine. Dont know how it is now though. But i`ve been told that the rooms above the disco can be quite noisyeddysbay wrote:can someone please give me there opinion re the city beach hotel? iv e read conflicting reveiws on TRIP ADVISOR, and would welcome a local view as we are booked in for 3 weeks. thanks
I stayed there a few years ago and it was a bit tired everything needed replacing most things towels beding etc seemed a bit thread bare. I am sure they must have replaced everything by now.
But the worst thing was the maids washing the bird shit from the balconys straight into the pool below when we were swimming in it.

I can confirm this.
Several years ago after a bad experience in this hotel, we decided never to go back again.
But last September we went back, because we wanted to stay in the town and we needed a parking.
The hotel has recently been renovated and now it is a good hotel for a reasonable price.
We paid 1200 Baht for the room (walk-in rate). This was low-season. Maybe now the prices are different.

Is this same hotel as City Beach Resort, my travel agent recommended this hotel, but reviews about it were not so good. I'm solo traveler coming to Hua Hin in december

Re: city beach hotel
I was considering staying there but a friendly local forum member recommended against it. I checked it out when I was there and he was right! I stayed at the Sofitel which I can highly recommend, but the Wannara Hotel for much less right across of the street is nice too.

Already booked in for 3 weeks and you are asking now?
Happiness can't buy money

Can you elaborate TT as to what you found wrong with it? The poster now has good and bad reviews and I'm sure he is becoming confused. Pete

Re: city beach hotel
The hotel is in need of much work, it is quite shabby with a couldn't care less attitude from its staff. They didn't care much about my inquiry to check out the rooms and the hotel, and they even looked unhappy. The rooms are really rundown with significant mold issues in the bath and shower areas. I also saw bug problem in the bathroom. The bed linen is that old it is starting to fray and grey.prcscct wrote:Can you elaborate TT as to what you found wrong with it? Re: city beach hotel
OK thanks for the information. I have not booked yet, and consider some other hotel.

Re: city beach hotel
I recomend the Chalelarn, http://chalelarnhuahin.com/default.asp comming from BKK turn left into soi 55 then right at the trffic lights and its on your left, Its really nice pretty new. You will not find it on any hotel SALE sites like asia rooms etc.I was there last night so can vouch that its good, but it was a little dear at 2100 baht a night, but as nice or better than the hilton at 5100 per night. Hope that helps

I hope it's better quality then their website.jimmy40 wrote:I recomend the Chalelarn
