Trolling Season

I have not used the forum for a while and see that an entertaining trolling season has begun. While this can be fun for a nanosecond, it is quickly quite annoying running through a number of allegedly up to date threads and then finding that they are either vacuous attempts to get into Nightcrawlers (can't we get rid of this bit of sh*te anyway?) or else threads given over to gratuitious trolling. Can someone do something to sort it out?

Not the least bit interested in this particular forum and from what I understand it to be . .I would agree that it ought to be terminated. Seems sleazy at very least.

Does anyone really find it useful in any way? Or is it one of those things you need to work to get into and then are bitterly disappointed once in?

Great, the best and worst news of the day. You used to put up some good posts Chas. I miss those. No idea what happened but if you don't like HHAD anymore, there are other forums. I have NO CLUE why genuine people over time on here turn sour. Honestly I think it's a personal matter with life in Thailand and nothing to do with HHAD, which just turns into a place where one can vent frustrations. Good luck. Pete

can't really answer the first question as i don't enter the zone to often, but the second is probably a big fat yes!!!!

It's simple RZR and this is certainly not directed at you, you just happen to have posted on the matter.

If people have something constructive to post, post it. If all they want to do is whine and complain about this and that, they waste their time, our time and forum disk space. As Chas said, he only 'visits' every few months, why?...if all he does is complain about how the forum is managed. Ohhhhh, I'm being 'protective'...open for a kick now.....our little forum is being attacked... help, save me In all sincerity I say F OFF, unless someone has something constructive to contribute, rational questions to ask, and friendly banter. This forum is primarily about Hua Hin and Thailand and not a place for malcontents with nothing to do and no where else to go.

We have had an abundance now of negative threads and posts this past month which serve no purpose other than to make the poster smile and feel noticed. Sad people, and some simply stupid. Please, no more. Pete

I think HHAD is probably the best Thailand related internet forum and information source that currently exists, but i also do think that the Nightcrawlers section of the forum could use a bit of improvement.

Unfortunately. .that IS what passes for humor here. (One reason I have stayed away and reduced my HHAD contact to a quick check-in twice a month.)

And I, for one, miss your sanctimonious lectures on what members should and should not post/joke about, as you attempt to lay down the classroom rules. Apply to be a moderator.

As the OP I'm sorry this has turned into a Chas-bashing session. This is a forum, so it's bound to get shit on it. I was just asking whether anything could or would be done about what I thought was current excessive trolling - which was detracting from my fun of reading the usual mixture of good information and irrelevent crap. Since this thread has conspicuously been ignored by every mod, I guess the answer is no. Could be worse, we could all go awol

i've read the post in question again!! & i am sure he is talking about the nightcrawlers section & not hhad as a whole, it's even sub-titled 'nightcrawlers', so again, i stand to be corrected !!!

AND, i agree with all the comments made concerning unnecessary posting, especially new threads to boost the ratings for entry to the darkside (NC's )
personally i by-pass most of them, especially those with tedious or daft titles, ie, most of them , oh, & anything posted by baabaa

I have to say RZR is correct though with his observation concerning NC and my incorrect reaction concerning Chas. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and far from the worst concerning this subject. Pete

The fact that we even let this discussion run where most other forums would lock it also says something.

There are always going to be a small element that can't have everything their own way and choose to moan about it at every waking opportunity. This is life!
