Mineral Water

Post by PeteC »

We've gone through this somewhat on other threads concerning how most bottle and jug water has had the minerals removed by reverse osmosis.

Just a tip that I had the best mineral water I've ever had here yesterday and much more tasty then Minerale(sp) IMO.

Name is Mont Fleur. I believe bottled here but certified by some French company. Sweet refreshing taste. Any other good suggestions? Pete

We've been drinking Minere ever since I read that people the world over are having more heart problems due to a lack of Magnesium that they used to get from tap water. It seems that since the bottled water craze, most people are lacking in this mineral that is necessary for the heart to function properly. The prime source of it for most people used to be tap water.

I drink a lot of tea here made from boiled tap water, but I never gave much thought to the effect that boiling the water has on mineral content.
I don't suppose that heating the water would reduce the magnesium levels.

Interestingly I always feel healthier up in Isaan where I only drink rainwater collected off the roof. No additives at all.

Sediment etc? That settles to the bottom of the giant vats we drain into

One third of the homes here on the Island of Hawaii are on catchment water and with proper filtering it is the best water you will ever drink!

Ours is filtered to a point. Gets rid of a load of dust, rat, bird and dog shit (Yes dogs on the roof sometimes when it's very wet)
