Hi,
This is my first post! Just saying hello. I visited Thailand for the first time in January 2010 and am now in love with the food, culture and weather. I am planning another trip this year and will be coming to visit Hua Hin. I look forward to reading all of the interesting posts on HHAD!
Thanks,
J

Welcome to the Forum J. Do you have any interesting experiences that you would like to share from your previous visit? For example, where did you eat, or what aspects of the culture made the biggest impression on you?

Welcome aboard!
Re: Greetings to all
Where to start...I visited Thailand for 3 weeks. I did what I would call a typical overview holiday. I started off in Bangkok, took a night train (first-time on a sleeper train!) to Chang Mai, back to Bangkok with day trips to the River Kwai and Ayutthaya, and then a finished off with a little beach time in the south, Phuket and Ko Phi Phi. The socio-economic differences between the hill tribes in the north and the very modern capital city was fascinating. The culture differences between the West are striking too. I fell in love with the street food (love Som Tam and other NE specialities). I had no problem with the local water either. I ate at will, and gained lots of weight to prove it!

Welcome to the forum mabubba.
Glad to hear you enjoyed your first visit to LOS.
You must have an iron constitution, when I drank the "local water" I lost a lot of weight.

I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.

It's funny(now...) but when I visited Bulgaria last summer for a lad's holiday I had the worst case of possible. And that was in Europe.

Re: Greetings to all
Thanks to all for the welcome. I look forward to coming to Thailand soon. I have been monitoring flight prices (UK to BKK) and will be coming once they settle down after the summer high season here. I hope to meet up with some expats when I come. My Thai isn't quite ready to go alone without speaking English:)
