Full Moon Party !!! Depart from Hau Hin to Koh Phangan

Hey !

It's my first time to travel to Hau Hin, so i want to have a good suggestion to have a safe trip from Hau Hin to Koh Phangan !
I know that FULL MOON party is the world famous party ... and i will stay in Hau Hin from Sept 22 - Set 26, 2010 ...
my fd and I would love to go to Koh Phangan to experince it ...

can anyone suggest me how to get to Koh Phangan from Hau Hin ?
By what means of transport ? safe ? how much is that usually cost ?

if anyone who is interested to go with us, we could share the price definitely !

http://www.lomprayah.com/E/route.htm has all the informations. There are 2 buses daily, leaving at 23:30 and 8:30 at the clock tower (Starbucks) connecting to the ferry in Chumpon.

The next party is on Sept. 23rd

The travel is safe, but the party can be dangerous because of the many drunken and drugged people.

Pitsch... have you ever been to the Full Moon Party ? but drugs are not allowed in Thail... i heard that the penalty are very serious ...

Yes, used to live on Khao Tao.

I went a couple of times about ten years ago (when I was a lot younger) before they became fully commercialised ... great fun then, dunno about now.

Koh Tao is the island before Koh Pha-ngan, its popular for learning to scuba dive.

Admission is free, beer is regular bar prices, cheaper in the local shops.

Advise for a safe trip ....
Keep your belongings with you at all times (passport, wallet etc)
Avoid all narcotics - penalties in Thailand are extreme and setups are common
Trust nobody at the venue (Thai or farang) ... there are a lot of scams

You could go and see the Railway station where they have a sign with the name of the town spelt correctly.

We are thinking about the cooking class ... but the website did not state how to register for that class ....

i'd found some from the resorts/ hotel ... but the price is freaking high ... totally rip off .... above 2000 baht per person ....
