Thai Style hotel design
I'm familiar with both ends of the design spectrum in Hua Hin. The Anantara and the Putahracsa. We enjoy both styles but tend to gravitate more towards the traditional Thai style design. The Anantara is great but showing it's age a bit. Which other resorts in the area are known for their Thai style design? Pete

Re: Thai Style
Not a 'resort' but the Pattana Guest House in the old part of HuaHin down near the fishing pier was always renowned for the way it's original style had been maintained.
I believe it has changed ownership yet again - but hopefully the style has been maintained.
It was originally renovated by a Dutch couple in 98/99 - who took care to keep the buildings intact. As a result not all visitors enjoyed the shared shower rooms, lack of aircon etc. But it occupies a lovely quiet location as close to the town centre as you can get.

Try the new Asara Resort. It's practically next door to Anatara (right next door to Palm Pavilion). Individual bungalow and pool etc.....high end but beautiful.
