Photo's of the recent floods?

Post by Drapes »

Hi all,

Does anyone have or know anywhere I can view any photo's of the recent floods in Hua Hin? My dad and sisters were (and still are) unable to live in their house. I've heard a lot about it from him but would love to see some pic's to put it all into context.

Any info much appreciated

I'd like to see some photos as well. Previous floods have been fairly well documented, but this time I've seen absolutely nothing.

Which parts of town were flooded? Presumably, the lower end (nearest Petchkasem) of Soi 102 got it bad again?

I've heard (but not cofirmed) that it was Soi 102 as usual, and Soi 88 was a tributary of the River Petchkasem.

The only flooding I saw was just after the beginning of the month and was on Phetkasem Road from around the entrance to Soi 102 going nearly to the traffic light. From the electric company to around Market Village Mall the water was over the curbs. That was only after one heavy rain and it went down quickly afterward. I don't know of any extensive or long lasting flooding.

Drapes, where is the house that is still inaccessible?

Thanks so much for the replies and photos.

They can access the house now but everything was ruined so there's no beds and stuff AFAIK. I'm told the water rose to waist height.

Ooh I've just received a text that they've found a new place  the other one was on Soi 102 so if thats a regular flooding spot then I'm glad they're moving!! They shouldn't have been there in the first place but thats a looooong story of which I could rant about forever...

Soi 102 area has always been prone to flooding and it is really crazy that the area has been allowed to developed the way it has.

There must have been something in the water in Soi 94 that day, cos we've never had anything like this ...

I think they filled the pool up a wee bit too much

Last nights rain was far worse. I'll post some more pics later, at moment can't really open the doors due to the builders' sand bags.
