Hot Stone Steaks

Post by kendo »

Hi chaps, is there anywhere in town where you can get a really good fillet steak served on a hot stone platter my Danish mate took me to a place in Samui that does this but not seen in Hua Hin.

Brasserie de Paris does this, I believe.

Ask for Fabrice, the chef, or Thierry, the owner,

Down Chomsin towards the fishing pier, turn right at the bottom, walk about 100 metres past the first two seafood restaurants and it's on your left.
Our restaurant Crepes & Cruises is about 3 places after that on the left.

A friend and I did a review for the Tattler magazine on the Brasserie de Paris, back in 2003.

I had the Chateaubriand steak and I can honestly say I have never experienced a better steak anywhere else in Hua Hin and I include BB's in that statement. :thumb:
I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.

Last year my first experiance of a hot stone steak, was when a Danish friend took us to this place in Samui, i think it was a German owned establishment he told me " if you love a good steak you will really love this place" we drove 5 minuits from his house and went down this long drive to a ranch style place, i was not sure what to expect.

When we were seated orderd a drink and then food it really took about half an hour maybe forty five minuits for the food to arrive but i dont mind a wait as i love a good couple of drinks in antisipation of fine dining.

When the steaks arrived we had allready had got plates of salad and rustic bread from a salad station.
The main corse i guess took so long because they have to make the stones really hot and the theirmal transfer of heat takes awile, but out it all came sizzling away with a piping hot jacket potatos.
All of our fillet steaks were so soft you could push a butter knife through them the best steak i have ever had (and yes in Thailand) that was very pleasing as i am very fussy with my steaks and myself and Palini do like to treat our selves with a bit of fine dinning every month back here in blighty.

I am really interested in finding this in Hua Hin there must be more places than allready recommended.
