Light enough to go on a roof, but you'll need supports at front and back ends of car. That's easier said than done. I know, because I used to hang glide and we needed to support both ends of the load. Not a dealer option.

A kayak (sometimes generalised as a canoe) is a small human-powered boat that traditionally has a covered deck, and one or more cockpits, each seating one paddler who strokes a double-bladed paddle

You can get those moulded plastic sit-on type kayaks easily enough in Thailand.
There used to be an outdoor shop upstairs in Market village that had them but I'm not sure if it's still there.
If you happen to be driving from Bangkok, you go past a couple of those big places that sell every type of moulded plastic water tank and container that have them on display outside.

They used to sell them in 'Probike' which is just past the PTT station going out of town.

I was in there the other day and diddn't see them but they should be able to point you in the right direction.

I don't know anything about kayaks, i just want one to make sport and go on the sea and river. A new one or second hand would be fine.

They do alot of stainless steel work gates etc. Steel gates. Steel boats, balsawood boats, kayaks. pedalos, single skulling boats and large eights similar to the oxford/cambridge boat race rowers. The type of stuff Johan is after. You can also pay weekly with 15% deposit down.

All the kayaks I've seen here (plastic) and the ones we have (fibre glass) are sit-on kayaks - ok for the river but certainly not for the sea.

If you want to go to sea in it, you certainly need the sit-in variety, and not plastic.

Hope this helps.
