saw some guys fishing from the pier the other day,girlfriend wants to try, having never fished before does anyone have any tips.Can she buy a rod in Hua Hin.

ACCROSS the road from tesco lotus walking back towards town centre there are 2 shops with nets, rods, etc also on road from main road to pier. have a good walk about and you will find all.

Enjoy, wish i was back there again. soon though

Think you'll only get small fry off the pier.
If you're both adventurous, some fishermen rent out their boats. I've been out a couple of times. Rods, water, bait supplied for @500 Baht per head, if there are enough people. You'll get hooked up with stingray, which you'll never get off the bottom and other wierd varieties of fish, most edible.
Take plenty of sunscreen. It's hot out there.
