It's a stunning looking building - but a shame that Bangkok hasn't adopted the 'green space' policy of Singapore. How long before bits of Lumphini and Chatuchak parks disappear?
Embassy land was granted in perpetuity so I'd also be interested to know how this sale came about - nothing to do with Cameron I suppose?

No, it was under Brown or even Blair from what I recall. I think you sold off a lot of embassy land around the world to consolidate and of course to raise significant funds. Pete

Nice looking building. You can see the model has a coin slot in the top right hand side and packets of Marlboro go down the slide and pop out the bottom. Ingenious.

The 4 acres that Britain sold off for almost $100 million was the noisiest and most air polluted part of their 13 acre site. Unfortunately Brown got his hands on it and probably spent it on 10,000 new jobs assessing the needs of pregnant Somali women in the East end of London.
