Hospitals for Surgery

Post by paulsimkiss »

I need an operation for gallbladder removal. Do you always need to go to Bangkok for these type of things. Or is there somewhere closer to Hua Hin. San Paulo and the new Bangkok hospitals don't seem to do surgery. Or am I wrong.

We opened in NOV and did not do surgery at that time but now our operating room is open and working well.

Having recently attended Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin I can highly recomend this facility.

After having visited numerous doctors (read qwacks), hopitals and clinics with the same problem for over two years and most times being told nothing was wrong, other times being given medication and told to come back in a month we finally went to BKHH facility and within minutes my wife was examined, scanned, x-rayed and blood test done then booked in for surgery the very next day.
The rooms are great, staff are great and the doctors exceptional.
Two years of misery are finally over and things are now looking good.
Again I can highly recommend this facility.

AlleyKat, have you been to Hua Hin hospital? go and have a look and make your own mind up. After waiting for hours to see anyone they gave a five minute internal examination, said my wife had nothing wrong, told her to go home and not worry about it. She told the doctors she was in continual pain, he said she was imagining it. Enough said, use a real hospital with real doctors.

Also don't waste time and mony going to Sirirat Hospital in Bangkok, we waited from 7 am to 3pm and they did just as Hua Hin hospital did.

Don't dismiss Siriraj Hospital too quickly. In the right hands, you will get superior care and low prices. You won't have English spoken much. Unless you go directly to see a specialist there, you'll sit for hours in admitting as StevePIraq found out.

My wife was very keen to go to Sirirat as that is where the King stays however after her visit there she has vowed never to go there again.

The general admissions section is totally over run with patients and doctors cannot allocate sufficient time to individual patients. I guess the hosptiall is overrun due to the fact that people go to the hospital with minor things instead of using a general doctor or clinic, no doubt they do not use them as they are even worse than the hospitals.

I would really appreciate it if anyone could recommend a good genereal practioner who could become the family doctor as one has on the UK.

Dr. Donna Robinson, British doctor, Thai Board Certified, is an excellent family doctor with a thriving practice in Bangkok. Her clinic is near Samitivej Hospital, website http://www.medconsultasia.com
