We use a guy called Ted Campbell (well, his company and Thai staff) - not the cheapest, but certainly very reliable, trustworthy and as an expat no language (English at least  ) difficulties.

12x4 pool. I was quoted 2500baht/mth.
2 times/week.
Includes chemicals and salt.
When they come for there weekly visits, they check the whole system for issues or problems. Supposedly very knowledgable staff not just there to pick the leaves out of the pool.
This company built the pool and I am very happy with all they did.
2500 seemed a bit high....but not grossly after hearing what others are paying.
I think I will call Jed as well.

Whoever calls him first should try for a forum discount. Maybe a few of us will use him!

In my experience a reliable pool cleaner is an oxymoron. More so if you are an absentee owner.

I have had several and they all turn out the same, including some mentioned in this post.
All of them start off with a big flourish, making out that they are the only ones in Hua Hin that know anything about pools. And it just goes downhill from there.

The first thing to do is NOT pay them 6 months in advance, as most of them ask. If you are living in the house I guess that you can keep better control on them, but caveat emptor! :cuss:
May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil know`s you`re dead!

I live on a small estate of about 10 houses and Jed looks after 3 or 4 as far as I know and the 1700 is alread "discounted" for us. At the end of the day, if you try to get it too cheap, you risk the service dropping and from my experience, I am getting a very good service for the price that I pay, which seems to be confirmed by what others are paying.

If you dont live in the house full time, there is always a balance between you paying in advance and expecting somebody to do your work and not get paid until your next visit - I suspect that if you negotiate a deal like that, again the service could very well reflect the "late payment".

Good point Dannie.
I would much rather pay more for good service than getting a discount and sub par service.
Cheap people pay twice!
Just give me good service and I will give you good money.
