Hi to you all, just joined this forum.
We are in process of searching for a new challenge & having visited HH a few times, thoughts are that this is the area for us.
Any info on usual stuff ie: cost of living, places to go, things to do etc would be great.
Also does anybody know about starting a company in Thailand? I'm a fully qualified Mechanic/Auto Electrician who has been working for himself for 10+ years in Cyprus, just looking into possibilities in HH area.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Si

Hi CyprusSi
Welcome to the forum. Have a good look around - you'll find a mine of information.
Regarding the work bit, rules are very strict. Have a good look around the Legal, Visa, Finances & Employment forum to see the restrictions.

Welcome!
It may be tough to get a work permit in your area of expertise. Certain jobs are reserved for Thais only. You can search this forum or the internet for the list of jobs foreigners can and cannot do here. I believe its here somewhere.

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Hey Cyprus Si,
Suggest you take up golf instead and enjoy relaxing!
You may be able to do the odd bit of tinkering with older cars (on the side for friends etc). I have an oldish BMW hybrid (no... not gas powered but a mix and match of Supra block and some skyline bits!) that is in need of some love every now and again!
Cheers,
JW
