Day Trips from Hua Hin

Post by Rone »

Any suggestions for day trips (or even overnighter) on public transport, prefer not to drive or use official tours.

For a day and using public transport your range is about an hour or so from HH so here are the options:

Prachuab town: http://www.huahinforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=13373

Petchaburi: http://www.tourismhuahin.com/petchaburi-huahin.php

Pala-U: http://www.tourismhuahin.com/pala-u-wat ... huahin.php
(Not sure on getting public transport all the way there though)

Same goes for Sam Roi Yod: http://www.tourismhuahin.com/khao-sam-r ... huahin.php

If you want to stay the night I'd recommend Bangsaphan which is 2 hours by train: http://www.bangsaphanguide.com/

Or Ban Krut: http://www.bankrutinfo.com/
Or Kaeng Krachan: http://www.tourismhuahin.com/kaeng-krachan-huahin.php

For me Kanchanamburi is a must

Can't really understand why I am not living there to be honest

Kanchanaburi is quite easy to get to: take an early train Northbound to Nakon Pratom (I think?)
Then buses leave from near the rail station every 20mins or so to K'buri.
(maybe worth an overnight stay or two).

Richard..the 'Dragon' would still find you..!!

I have another dragon who lives there but not quite so aggressive. In fact all my life I've been surrounded by dragons and I've reared two as well.

Have some new plans re my location but will email you. Have to go to Romantic tonight to pay my massive check bin (worth every penny):offtopic:

In which case you can get a minivan to NKP which takes 45 minutes, as opposed to the three or more hours your likely to spend on the train.

Are you sure about that Pleng? As far as I'm aware, the minibus takes over 2 hours from HH :?

Edit:

Oh I see, you mean from BKK right? If so, my apologies

Sorry I did mean from Hua Hin but you're quite right; I got it round the wrong way. Minibus is approx 2 hours from Hua Hin to NKP; 45 Mins from BKK to NKP
