Cost to gravel a road

Post by hhfarang »

This question got lost in another post on the property thread, so I thought I would post it again here. I'm sure some of you must have done this and know what the going rate is.

How much does it cost to just put packed gravel on a road approximately 6 meters wide by 90 meters long?

assuming that you are going to put a layer of stone on top of approximately 80mm
(allowing for highs and lows)

90 x 6 x .08 = 43.2 cubic meters of stone.

stone = 400 baht per cubic meter.

therefore 43.2 x 400 = 17280 baht

SL maths is spot on. We paid by the truck and for a bit of a longer run was 20k We used scalpings and finings which packs down nicely and the grass does not grow through like it does with just plain aggregate.

Talking of graveling roads--the "back road" running alongside the railway looks as if it has undergone an artillery attack, huge potholes alsmost undriveable--this added to the fact that the Uturn close to the Intecontinental has been sealed off, so that if I am going to Soi 102, I have the choice of taking the war zoner oad from soi 94 to Soi 102 OR taking a 2K detour to the the U turn under the overpass.

^ Welcome to the Hua Hin city planners environs Dr. Mike! :D I have no education in such, but I believe if they would give the mayoral power and budget for six months, I could make this a true paradise! :duck: :duck: :duck:

Dr. Mike; Welcome to the cratered roads of Hua Hin. The list grows and changes daily. Many more added than ever subtracted on a daily basis.
