Shooting in Hua Hin Saturday.

Post by terry+carmen »

Saw a report on TAN NEWS this morning that a well known Hua Hin property developer was shot on Saturday. The report said it was a female who drives a Mini Cooper. Appears she was lured to her head office and shot by a "professional" hit man. Property development in Hua Hin appears to be a dangerous profession. Terrible news for family.

Anyone have any details.

What does she own?
Any property under development by her company?
Relationships with other developers (that may not be allowed by the mods) Soi 88 springs to mind.

According to a Bangkok newspaper today it was Phetcharat Sutsano, she was 42 and a manager for The Grand Diamond housing estate, she was reportedly murdered as she left her office on Phetkasem Road on Saturday.

The police are quoted as saying that they suspect she was killed over a business conflict.

Truly shocking, RIP.

Yep. All over the front pages of the Thai newspapers today and yesterday. Very sad indeed. Unfortunatey it won't be the last property related death that we hear about.

Situation is this...On Saturday about 16:30, the mother of one of our students came out of her office on Phetkasem Road, opposite Hua Hin General Hospital, and as she went to get in her Mini, she was shot. She ran back towards her office but fell to the ground ... killer came after her and shot her 5 more times (scene was captured on CCTV in front of her office).

Understand that there was a property dispute (isn't there always).

The likely scenario is that police will catch killer, who will confess and name the mastermind. Mastermind will throw money at police. Killer will get life... and Mastermind's name will disappear (or perhaps she committed suicide). Why am I so cynical???

Mods any chance you could remove the video of the cold blooded murder of a poor woman. There are certain sites to go to should you so wish to see something like that.

I couldn't agree more. That is deeply disturbing.

Very sad indeed.

I've replaced the embedded video with a link and a warning out of respect for the family of the deceased, this way it is optional viewing and will still be made available as a stark reminder of what can happen here.

GLC and jj nice sentiments however don't bother to look at Thai papers! Gratuitous violence and graphic pictures is the norm in LOS. Depictions of people smoking is not. Strange times indeed.

Very sad and shocking that a working mother, and someone's wife too I should guess, should be so callously attacked over a business altercation and the temper-tantrum the perp had after not getting what they wanted. Killing anyone like this is a dark thing, but to do so to woman with a child in school, in full daylight, is appalling. May those guilty of it rot in hell or come to a suitably nasty demise themselves.

I think, the more people that make their feelings on these sort of things known through as many mediums as possible, the better, to show their disgust about the way some criminals act like this with impunity, even if it comes to little avail.

The woman was apparently a major housing developer currently involved in a project called "Pranladda" (or similar) in Pranburi - there was evidently a major dispute with a shareholder in that project, according to Thai press reports.

So they just murder her and the dispute is settled, it's so sad.

Monkey mentality unfortunately.

Horrible way of thinking but it aint gonna change for a long time. They have the same mentality from the factory workers right up to the government workers.

Just everyone remember, we as foreigners are far from immune to this. It's happened many times and will happen again to farangs. Best advice is simply to keep a low profile and act detached from most things. Pete
