Do you like to buy books from Amazon?

Would you like a store where place an order for any book and it can be delivered to you ?

Are You sick of the high prices at Asia books or kinokonya and looking for a place with cut price deals on different types of book like paper back, hard cover.... ?

If you are student are you sick of paying for a photocopy of a book just because its expensive ?

what shipping problems did you experince with Amazon shipping to thailand ?

Finally what kinds of books do you prefer?

Order books from Amazon regularly. No problems so far.

To buy books from Amazon to Thailand there is no need for a store to order and receive books. I have many times ordered books by internet and received them about ten days later in good condition at my home in Thailand for 15 Euro shipping cost. The costs are the same if you order 1 or 30 books.

One question I have is: How much Thai taxes have been charged on the packages? invariably when i get a package sent from outside the Post Office will not release until i have paid taxes on it, even if it is on my wife's name - or am i being ripped off?

Actually I recently brought Some electrical parts from the States which was shipped to my place without any problem but I had to pay 300 bhat for the taxes when it arrived for 3000 goods i feel 300 is a good price..and for Amazon they already include the import fees in the whole amount. so it saves u from hassle .. one of the shops in bangkok actually get the book from amazon and sell them at cheap price so u save on shipping too..
Anyways the point is AMAZON charges u more money but saves u from customs hasle.

I buy books regularly from Amazon.com. Excellent internet service, books arrive in about ten days. Never had to pay duty, I believe books enter free of duty. But then again, I may just have been lucky (more than ten times!) Absolutely no need for a Thai go-between.

Whilst I'm speaking from the point of view of ordering from China, I don't see Thailand being any different on delivery or import problems duties (I've certainly paid no import duty into China for books or DVD's, however Amazon will not deliver electrical goods etc.). I've regularly ordered books (and the occasional DVD) from Amazon with zero hassle.

One thing I would add regarding charges, is that when delivering overseas (at least from the UK), there is no VAT charge - goes quite a way towards postal charges.
