Does anyone know of a shop / dealer / agent / supplier in Hua Hin who is willing to get a replacement shaver head for a Philips 'Arcitec' shaver?
I DID manage to get one from Central Dept Store on Sukhumvit before (They ordered it from the Philips main supplier in Bangkok) - this was two years ago.
I simply get pi55ed of with having to go to Bangkok for simple spare parts for almost everything!
I have a similar Norelco (I think made by Phillips but named differently in the U.S.) shaver Terry, and I had to have replacement heads purchased and sent to me by a friend in the U.S..
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
I've been getting stuff from philips.com for several years now. I just looked it up and the web site has your shaver on it......but you'll have to do a search under personal care.
To be perfectly honest, I'd say simply buy a new shaver. For the cost of getting parts in Bangkok etc., get a cheaper razor with ''available'' parts locally - or invest in the spares when you buy it. Are you looking at a shaver or a trimmer as such? I've not been ''clean shaven'' for years, but use the minimum setting on a trimmer - I have a Chinese made unit which has lasted me 5 years to no now.
If a razor, I have a Phillips "Coolskin" (I think.....), that has hardly been used and no longer needed if you have a use for it....

Is that a fashion statement or simply a personal comfort preference?
I prefer the smooth-as-a-baby's-bottom shave, and if I overlook the razor for a day, Mrs D-M soon lets me know.
Too hot here for stubble or a beard, and I get itchy and dry skin.
It seems to me that in most places you cannot get 'spares' - all they want to do is sell you another new unit.
I guess that I am an old fashioned git - I just do not see the point in throwing away a perfectly good unit when a new set of cutters will make it as new.
Cost of shaver new - around THB 12,500 - about 5 years ago
Replacement cutters THB 2,100 around 2 years ago.
It's a damn good shaver - still holds a charge for about 2 - 3 weeks with a fully functional trimmer
I've used Philips electric shavers for years and find them fit for the job, with a wet shave once a week to keep on top of the ever sprouting stuff.
I agree with you Terry and dtaai-maai; my missus likes me as smooth as I like her... ... and I'm damned if I'm going to follow this new five o'clock shadow is cool sissy thing that's been around for a couple of years now mostly in Hollywood.

Very simply, I hate shaving......if I ''wet shave'' my skin goes to sh*te - very bad reactions. The Long Haired General also hates stubble, so I have to really ''pucker up''....... I keep my stubble down to a minimum, which these days is fairly soft....
