The strong cardboard boxes as we know them in Europe are hard, if not impossible, to find in Hua Hin. Instead, go to Tesco-Lotus and buy the big plastic containers with lids that lock. They are relatively inexpensive and quite durable.

They aren't all that impossible if you walk into the post office and buy them.

The reason you can't just go into Tesco or any other store and ask for their leftover boxes from incoming shipments is because they sell them to scavengers, and aren't about to lose a couple baht by helping out someone from the general public. Whoops. Is my cynicism showing again?

I've ended up buying plastic storage boxes in the past, which in the big stores in China have actually not been that badly priced.

I realise not the best answer Bapak, but could well be the best option.

Expensive boxes. Hope you didn't need many. Fold and save them when you are finished to sell for half price to others who are moving!
