After a very nice lunch today the owner informed us that they will be closing on the first and last tuesday of each month starting from now until the end of October so we thought we would let forum members know.

I am so sorry to say but could you please just try to imagine how it is possible to put into the same box goat and cabbage. Cheap sushi is only cheap suchi. The best sushi cannot be cheap. That's rule. Unless you're in Japan. Take it easy guys, because some people have got a problem with stomach after having a lunch there.
I have eaten at Sakura many times and always enjoyed very good quality food at very good prices in a nice atmosphere.
Saying is the best Sushi in the world is pretty strong but it certainly is very very good.
I would say they are one of the best here and that it certainly is good value for money.
I have had several good lunches and diners there, so I hope they keep doing what they are.
My son loves sushimi, so we often buy the big boat for us 2 to share and take home. For only 350THB I think that is a bargain.
I mostly avoid the sushi boxes as I know what kinds of sushi I like and can put together a better mix, that is always good quality and has a nice presentation.
Sukura is no longer closing on the first and last Tuesday of the month and is back to opening 7 days a week. Eat there most weeks and have never had a problem the restaurant and kitchen are spotlessly clean; you and your friends Gotan must be very unlucky!
Also congratulations to Wat and Koy on the birth of their daughter Miso and good luck with the new restaurant opening 05 Sept.
Is this the little place on soi 94? I've heard countless good reports regarding their sushi. Maybe time for me to share the secret with Mrs Takiap. I don't care much for sushi, but the wife and kids love it, so I could use this to my advantage.
Don't try to impress me with your manner of dress cos a monkey himself is a monkey no less - cold fact
The youngThai man who owns it lived in I think Chicago and worked in a Japanese restaurant there. His food is excellent. He is opening another more conventional one next door, Thai and Western food--It is over the road from where OY used to be--opening next Wednesday.

The owner / chef is the son of a very good friend of Mrs.T
We were told that it was Philadelphia.............
We all know just how good the Thais are at geography
But hey - who gives a rats ar5e - the food is good and I know for sure that the ingredients are really fresh.
His mother runs a taxi business and on one occasion she picked me up from Swampy, late at night. We met up with another taxi somewhere near Samut Sakhon and retrieved a whole cargo of frozen / chilled goodies which were delivered to Sakura - BEFORE I got home
I cannot see where Dr Mike wrote anything about seating? Perhaps you "Moderated" that bit out? If you do not like the seats then I suggest you vote with your arse and don't sit on them.
