Apparently, just like pitbulls, they make good family pets:

I remember reading the story accompanying that picture on a web site: The guys with the backhoe disturbed TWO of these petite serpents -- the other one got away! And, IIRC, they they didn't know the snakes were there, and this one was killed by accident.

Hello,

These primeval eating automatons give me the creeps. Stuff for nightmares.

I hope they don't have my address! Does anyone know where I can get a large-calibre pump-gun in Hua Hin?

By the way - 29 DAYS TO GO TILL MY RETIREMENT!

You may be disappointed to learn that I saw one crossing the road near my home that was at least 4 meters long and as big around as my upper thigh (and I'm not a small person). This was a couple of months ago and it had me and motorcycle traffic stopped as it blocked the entire road as it slowly ambled across. It was a beautiful animal. You'd need at least a 9mm to stop one that size.

Better not to move to Thailand if you're afraid of snakes... (the crawling ones or the 2 legged ones)
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

... just to calm your nerves after the last post :D

Don't worry, it's not that bad for snakes here. In 8 years I have probably seen 2 (not including wee little grass snakes - they don't count) that wriggled away like the clappers when disturbed and I've lived right in the sticks for short spells.

Snakes don't bother me.

Centipedes on the other hand - that's another story! Hate those buggers. The big ones are just horrible looking things. Damn dangerous too.
Saw quite a few of medium to big sized ones while in Hua Hin and loads of little ones. Haven't seen a good sized one since I left. :D
