Bring motorbike from Phuket to Hua Hin

Post by Siani »

Does anyone know the best way to bring a motorbike from Phuket to Hua Hin...without riding it there of course! Are there transporters that do this service?

Take it to the local Post Office. They'll do it for you.

Never tried it myself, but there are several threads on here that will confirm what I've said.

I agree, that to somebody from the UK, it seems very strange.

Post Office does the mb-transport and the price is reasonable.

Empty the tank (or P.O. will do it for you) and detach the mirrors.

Alternatively, your son's gf could just ask around between the locals. Any Thai heading up this way with a pickup would more than likely be happy to bring the bike up for a small fee. Personally, I would ride it up if it were mine, but if your son's gf is Thai, that's probably not an option. They don't seem to have the same sense of adventure......lol. :D

Ride it there. its easily done and the ride is a nice one. Ive done it lots of times. i used to do HH to Ranong for the visa run on a wave 110. You could have a steady ride up the coast to Ranong, stop for lunch there then a stunning ride over the mountains to Chumphon. Have the night there then up early and a steady ride up to HH with a stop on the way for lunch.
As said you can post it to the PO in HH but empty the tank of fuel and disconnect the battery. Mirrors just loosen and turn inwards
I never forget a face but in your case I'll make an exception!

The Post Office will do it for about Bht1200, at least that was the price from Pattaya to HH 5 years ago and also from HH to Korat a year ago - quite quick and reliable too.

Ridden miles and never had a sore one. The beauty is you can stop where and when you want so as soon as it starts to get a little stiff just pull over and have a little stretch or a drink. As said it,s a lovely ride especially the bit cross country over the mountains. The trick is never be in a hurry to get anywhere. i like to take detours when riding. they have the big blue signs with tourist attractions so often pull off the main drag and go and have a look. caves, waterfalls, Temples etc. Also never without the camera. :thumb:
